THE REGION

We are located on the Costa do Cacau, between the sea and the green coast that borders this region of pure Atlantic Forest, with jaw-dropping tropical plants and flowers, beautiful coconut trees by the sea, cocoa farms hidden inland, incredible waterfalls, beaches with warm, calm waters that are generally deserted even on holidays.

History and Potentials of the Region

Known for Jorge Amado's novels, Ilhéus experienced its heyday in the early 20th century, with cocoa plantations. Today, the economic potential of the region is linked to the production of handmade chocolates and ecotourism.

Despite being one of the first regions occupied by Europeans in Brazil, it is remarkable how the local inhabitants still live in deep connection with the cycles of nature, preserving its culture and ancestral customs.

The cultivation of cocoa in a cabruca system (an ecological system of agroforestry cultivation), which needs the shade of the Atlantic Forest to grow, together with the fact that the region was practically isolated until the construction of the access road in 1998 (the first really ecological road in the country), make this region a special place with a high degree of preservation.

The preservation of culture, ancestral customs and connection with the natural cycles of the rural population and indigenous people, together with the high degree of preservation of the Atlantic Forest in the region, made the Serra Grande region a kind of rehabilitation tourist center for the deceleration and reconnection .

Taperebá is in the Aderno/Tibina microregion. We are at the top of the mountain, with constant sea breeze and fertile land. It is a historically rural region, predominantly occupied by cocoa production and extensive livestock. We see here the potential of being a pole of agroecological rural human settlements, with the possibility of generating income through agroecological production, agrotourism and cycle tourism.

Our Clime

We are in the Atlantic Forest biome, and we have a humid, mild and pleasant tropical climate, with an average temperature of 24 degrees C, with aannual temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C. We have a good rainfall rate, with an average of 13 to 19 days of rain/month, 74 to 139 mm of rain/month, and 85% humidity. In summer, the prevailing windscomes from the northeast, and in winter, from the southeast.

Does it seem like a dream to live in a place like this?

Laway from the stress and stimuli of large urban centers, where children have more freedom and it is easier to create healthier habits, inspired by a peaceful and natural environment. It is in this place that we are building the rural village Taperebá. A community that will make your family's life transition more fluid and real.
